FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arts Organization Appoints 2007 Directors.
LANCASTER, PA -- The Longs Park Amphitheater Foundation has
named two Lancaster County women to co-direct its top-rated fine
art and craft show. Tapped to a new position as festival managing
director of the 2007 Longs Park Art & Craft Festival is
Amy L. Marberger. Donna Stephan Reinaker has been named festival
artistic director.
The 2007 show will be held Labor Day weekend, Friday through Monday,
August 31 to September 3.
Reinaker has led the festival as its solo director the past three
years. Under her tenure the 27-year-old show has been named the
fourth best fine art and craft festival in the nation by The Harris
List and the sixth finest by ArtFair SourceBook.
This marks a natural evolution for the show and an opportunity
for me to step back and turn over the extensive, day-to-day management
of the festival, explained Reinaker. Our plans and dreams
for this event have simply outgrown any one volunteer. To maintain
our quality and enhance our guest experience year after year requires
more time and talent. Im honored that Amy has agreed to join
me in leading next years event.
Amy Marberger has volunteered at the festival for many years, joining
the Longs Park Amphitheater Foundation board in 2005. She
served on the planning group for the Festivals first Breakfast
in the Park benefit in 2006. The Millersville resident is a commercial
insurance agent and assistant to the president at the Martin Insurance
Agency in Millersville. She graduated from Millersville University
in 1993. She has been a member of Lancaster Sertoma Club since 2003
and lives in Millersville.
Donna Reinaker is Lancaster Countys Register of Wills. She
is also the owner of Interior Design Consultants. She has served
on the Long's Park Amphitheater Foundation board of directors in
2002. She and her husband, Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas
judge Dennis Reinaker, reside in Manheim Township in Lancaster County.
The Longs Park Art & Craft Festival was founded in 1979
as the primary revenue source for the regionally renowned Longs
Park Summer Entertainment Series. Over the years it has grown in
size and reputation. An estimated 1,000 artists and craftspeople
from across the country now vie to be one of the shows coveted
200 exhibitors. Approximately 20,000 guests from across the Mid-Atlantic
region and beyond make the show a regular part of their Labor Day
weekend celebration. The volunteer-driven event is supported by
just one paid staff member.
