Volunteers
Needed for Longs Park Art & Craft Festival This Labor
Day Weekend.
LANCASTER,
PA -- Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks this Labor Day
weekend at the 29th annual Longs Park Art & Craft Festival.
Four hour assignments are open for setup Thursday, August 30, 2007,
as well as throughout the show which runs Friday through Monday,
August 31 to September 3.
Festival hours are 10 am to 6 pm, closing at 5 pm Monday, September
3. Workers are needed for a number of functions, including helping
out in the Market Square area with T-shirt and poster sales, staffing
booths while exhibitors take short breaks, taking tickets, assisting
with parking, transporting supplies around the show and tearing
down after the festival closes.
An optional picnic training session for volunteers will be held
at Longs Park on Wednesday, August 22 from 6 to 8 pm. Volunteers
will receive free admission to the fine art and craft festival and
preferred parking. They will also have an opportunity to purchase
T-shirts at significantly discounted prices.
Interested individuals are asked to contact the Longs Park
Amphitheater Foundation by calling (717) 735-8883 or emailing the
Foundation at info@longspark.org. Those who cannot attend
the August 22 picnic will receive special training.
The Longs Park Art & Craft Festival has been rated the
fourth best fine art and craft shows in the country by
The Harris List. The event is expected to attract some 20,000 guests
from throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Presented by the Longs
Park Amphitheater Foundation and its volunteer board, the festival
serves as the major funding source for the Longs Park Summer
Entertainment Series and its 13-week season of free music.
Longs Park is located just off Route 30 at the Harrisburg
Pike exit, across from Park City Center in Lancaster.
