Have fun. Help out. And enjoy the music. Volunteers are the lifeblood of all that happens at Long’s Park! To present the Long’s Park Summer Music Series, we need volunteers to help us this summer at our Sunday night concerts. With the exception of our July 4th patriotic concert, we have four basic shifts:

• 4:30 to 7:30 pm—Set-up, information tent, CD sales and light parking duty

• 5:30 to 8 pm—Parking

• 7:30 to 9 pm—Information tent and CD sales

• 8:30 to 10 pm—CD sales, crowd control for autograph seekers and tear-down

Here are more specifics.

Set-up (4:30 to 7:30 pm; July 4 only, another 2:30 to 4:30 pm shift)

Tear-down (8:30 to 10 pm)
Every Sunday we staff an information tent near the amphitheater stage. Our pop-up canopy requires only flexible thumbs and moderate patience to assemble and disassemble. Plus, we need help carrying brochures and chairs back and forth between their amphitheater storage area.

Parking (5:30 to 8 pm; July 4 only, 2:30 to 4:30 pm)
We need light parking help helping sponsors and donors park on our open hillside and people with physical challenges park near the amphitheater and in our general parking areas.

Information Guru (later in 4:30 to 7:30 pm shift; 7:30 to 9 pm)
Answer questions, help locate lost parents, point the way to rest rooms and sell vintage Festival T-shirts at great prices. For the July 4 patriotic concert, we may need you to act as hosts of the Army Band’s dinner in the park.

CD Sales (7:30 to 9 pm; front end of 8:30 to 10 pm shift)
We have performer CDs to sell almost every weekend. Plus, many Sundays our performers also have their own T-shirts we can sell, as well as our own vintage Festival shirts.

Fireworks Fence Set-up (July 4 only, 9 am to 12 noon)

Fireworks Fence Tear-down (July 4 only, 9 pm to 12 midnight)
If you enjoy teamwork and physical activity, these are the the jobs for you. We’ve got a dedicated core of volunteers who love these assignments, but we’re always eager to expand the team.
