Our Mission

“Provide cultural programming at the Long’s Park Amphitheater for the benefit of the general public, thereby enriching the quality of life in Lancaster County.”

This mission is manifested through the presentation of the “Summer Music Series ”, free to the public, at the architecturally beautiful Long’s Park Amphitheater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This series is made possible solely through the generous support of sponsors and donors and by revenues generated by the annual Labor Day Weekend Art Festival.

The Summer Music Series

Since 1962 this mission is brought to life through the “Summer Music Series.” The 13-week Sunday evening musical performances are a part of the fabric of life in the Lancaster area and are recognized regionally by music aficionados as a great outdoor venue for the diversity and quality of the artists that perform on its stage.

This year we celebrate 60 years of hosting talent from around the world so that hundreds of thousands of people can experience the transformational magic of live musical performances.

Set in a family-friendly atmosphere the series offers a diversity of musical genres that are not generally available free to the people of the Lancaster community. Blues, Latin, Celtic, World, Classical, Folk, Bluegrass, Country, World, Rock & Roll, and more are all here for you.

Art Festival

While free, great musical performances are the mission the Long's Park Amphitheater keeps it thriving and vital. Begun as a fundraiser to support the “Summer Music Series” in 1979, the Labor Day Art Festival is a nationally recognized arts event in its own right. Thousands of art lovers from throughout the mid-Atlantic region are drawn to the beautiful Long’s Park setting while over 200 juried exhibitors from across the country offer work in over a dozen artistic media.
